Yellow hearts Mint

Design Sponge showcases ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of people’s DIY projects (mostly furniture, sometimes rooms).

Today, I am showing you only an ‘after’ photo because this dresser is just too delicious. I love how the paint job makes it look distressed and best of all, I love how the electric yellow pops against the mint green.

You can see the original post here.

DIY Feathered Heels

Love this heels from A Haute Mess. Even more amazing that she did these herself! My DIY projects (if they succeed) never look this good. Kudos Niki!

Hello!

This sculpture combines three things I love: handmade, birds, and type. Wish I had extra money for this right now!

I wish I had an Etsy budget each month, but until then….

This Is Where We Live

I found this awhile ago and couldn’t remember where I saw it. Thankfully, it has resurfaced and now I can share with all of you.

Similar to my other post, I love the delicate paper cuts.

Books come to life, I think I’m in love!

Children's Drawings come to Life

This Korean project took children’s drawings and turned them into professional shot photos. The photos don’t copy the drawings exactly, but it still works brilliantly. I wonder what the children thought with the final result?

When Grown Men Cry

What do grown men look like when they cry? Photographer Sam Taylor-Wood photographed some of Hollywood’s leading film actors who shed some tears.

“Some of the men cried before I even finished loading the camera, but others found it really difficult, said Taylor-Wood. “People can decide for themselves which they think are the authentic tears and which they think are fake. It’s about the idea of taking these big, masculine men and showing a different side.”

Mad paper cutting skills

My best friend sent me the link to this terrific promo for the New Zealand Book Council. As a book lover, it’s no surprise that I love this but throw in the bold and creative paper cuts and I’m a goner.

Chopin's Nocturne

If October was a month of sickness, then November is the month of overtime. I am sitting here at my desk attempting to write, in the dark*, listening to the above by Chopin.

This is one of my favourite classical pieces and something that I like to listen to when I’m in the bath or just want to feel relaxed.

*All the lights are off, save for one lamp that’s not automatically turned off by the motion detectors.
